Foundations are fixed-scope installs: one operating system, with a defined start and end and a price fixed before the work begins.
An install asks an hour a week from your GM and director of operations on the standing call, and your managers’ time on shift.
Each install comes out of one of our fourteen capabilities: the opening plan out of Opening Support & Stabilization, the leadership bench out of Leadership Development.
Your team owns what stays behind: the routines that run the system and the managers trained to hold it. If it only holds while we are standing there, it was not installed.
An install is the right size when the problem already has a name: food cost drifting at one unit, a schedule nobody checks against sales, a new-hire path nobody follows. One system fixes that faster than an engagement that has to find it.
Full advisory starts where the group cannot yet say what is breaking, where to open next, or who should run it.
Fixed scope
Shift-Execution install
The standard is written down somewhere; the shifts do not run to it.
Food-Cost install
Food cost runs above what the recipes say it should, and nobody owns the gap.
Service Training install
The guest experience changes from unit to unit because every unit still trains its own way.
Labor & Scheduling install
Next week’s schedule is last week’s with a few names changed, whatever the forecast says.
Menu Engineering install
New-Unit Opening Readiness install
Your strongest operator is about to spend a quarter in one unit.
Hiring System install
Every vacancy is a scramble, and the best résumé in a thin week keeps winning the job.
Leadership Bench install
The next unit’s GM role has nobody on the bench with a readiness date.
Each price is a floor; scope moves it up, most often the unit count, and Menu Engineering is priced per concept. Start with Shift-Execution unless discovery says otherwise: the other installs assume its discipline is already in place.
Discovery comes first: $1,000 on top of the install’s price, scoped on a free first call. It ends in a short written read on what is costing you. One discovery can cover two installs run side by side.
Start to handoff
Four steps on every install: discovery, then about 30 to 60 days to the handoff or, for an opening, to opening day.
- Discovery.
- Time in your restaurants, then the notes and the numbers. It ends in a fixed price for the install.
- Build the system.
- The line check, the variance read or the labor model, fitted to your menu and your pay periods.
- Run it with your managers.
- Live, on the shift or in the interview, reviewed with us by video where possible and on the standing call until the handoff.
- Handoff to your team.
- At the agreed date, with the system running without us: four weekly food-cost reads, every schedule on the model, the first open role taken from posting to offer.

Full advisory
Management consulting, turnaround, growth strategy, fractional COO, operational due diligence: the fee for each is set by the scope and the value of the outcome, agreed before the work starts, never by the hour or the day.
Who runs it
RANGE was founded by Jon Peck, who spent twenty years running multi-unit restaurant groups: eight brands built and scaled, twelve openings across six concepts in three years, and more than $100 million of annual P&L owned.
Bring us the problem.
The call works out which install fixes it.
